Pete and Conte Candoli were among the most respected and esteemed jazz trumpet players on the West Coast. Based in Los Angeles, they were the first-call musicians and performed on hundreds of recordings for television and Hollywood movies. “Echo” is a live concert performance that was recorded for international TV in 1980. Trumpet fans can now discover them on this Album and on the live concert DVD.

“Caravan” is a jazz standard that was composed by Juan Tizol and Duke Ellington and first performed by Ellington in 1936. The minor key melody created for “Caravan” forms a perennial favorite, evocative, lively and memorable, enhanced by Ellington’s arrangement. The song was widely covered by various musicians, and featured in popular movies, such as Sweet and Lowdown, Ocean’s Eleven, Whiplash, and Chocolat.

Pete and Conte Candoli are known for their amazing technique, and quality of tone on the instrument. Their stellar performances on this recording give the familiar tune a new feel. They share the stage with renowned guitarist Joe Diorio, and pianist Ross Tompkins, creating a full, lush sound.
